Custody & Parenting Time

In Nebraska, the Courts focus on finding a custodial arrangement that works in the best interests of the children. There are many factors the Court focuses on to determine where the children will live and who will make decisions about their healthcare, education, and religious upbringing.   The facts of every case are different.  We will walk you through an analysis and explanation of legal custody (decision making for the children) and physical custody (allocation of parenting time).

Nebraska’s Parenting Act mandates parent education and mediation.  Parents can agree upon a Parenting Plan rather than letting a judge decide. The goal of establishing a Parenting Plan is to clearly set forth where your children will be during the weekdays, weekends, holidays and the summer.  If mediation is unsuccessful, we will work with you to prepare your case for trial.
