Mediation - Property Settlements

John S. Slowiaczek and Virginia A. Albers have represented thousands of people and helped their clients resolve their family law issues through litigation, negotiation and mediation.  They offer their services as mediators to help you and your lawyer reach a property settlement.

When a divorce involves a closely held business, a ranch or farm, or other specialized concerns, the family needs a mediator that will not only help facilitate a resolution but will bring a sophisticated knowledge of family law to the table.

John has practiced family law for over 45 years.  Virginia has 25 years of experience.  They have represented clients with interests in closely held businesses, construction companies, banks, and professional services.

Determining the value of a business is only the first step in a divorce.  Separating the value of a gifted or inherited asset and determining how much growth should be included in the marital estate is the second step.  Then, structuring a property settlement that recognizes tax consequences, payment terms, and other concerns is the last step.

Slowiaczek Albers will work with your attorneys and accountants to help you develop a workable, fair property settlement through mediation.

John Slowiaczek, Past President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is an AAML Certified Mediator.  The AAML certification focuses on innovated mediation techniques for family law issues.  Virginia has completed the AAML/Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation and attended a 30-hour program on the theory and practice of conflict resolution techniques.  Both attorneys will help you work through conflict to get to a resolution.
