What to Expect
Please call and schedule an appointment with a member of our team. Your first appointment will take about an hour. We will send you a worksheet to complete to make your time with us more efficient. We will also explain our fees.
Our goal is to listen to you and find out exactly what you need. Perhaps this meeting will lead to a decision to file for divorce – or perhaps you will decide that the time is not right for that action. You may simply want to get information about the divorce process. You may be more comfortable if you bring a friend or family member with you. Just be aware that if you do, the confidentiality of the information that you share and the advice that you receive will be waived. We will do our best to explain the divorce process to you and give you the resources you need to make informed decisions.
We will help you establish realistic expectations for your situation. Most people prefer to reach a settlement and our goal is help them reach a fair result. There are no “winners” in a divorce. If you want to attempt to mediate a settlement, we will support you.
If we cannot reach a settlement, we are prepared to advocate for you in court. Before you go to court, we will discuss your alternatives and help you prepare to put your best case forward.
Our Commitment to You
We know that divorce is stressful. We will communicate with you and keep you informed throughout the process. We will listen. We will educate you. We will be honest with you about what to expect.
